Weather advisory issued for freezing rain and snow

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for snow and freezing rain in effect from 9 p.m. tonight to 6 a.m. Wednesday along and north of the Sterling Highway. The advisory includes the cities of Kenai, Soldotna, Homer and Cooper Landing, and calls for one to six inches of snow and up to one tenth of an inch of ice. Forecasters expect snow to develop during the evening and then mix with or change to freezing rain after midnight. The NWS advises drivers to be careful when on the roads.

School district, Habitat for Humanity forge partnership
