A month-long Kenai Police Department investigation has resulted in several arrests and charges of prostitution and sex trafficking in relation to the operation of a Kenai business.
Officers on Thursday night arrested Karen Carpenter, 49, who operated Gifted Hands Massage on Attla Way in Kenai, according to a press release. Carpenter, of Soldotna, was charged with three counts of felony sex trafficking. Those charges were in the first, second and third degrees, in addition to another charge of misdemeanor prostitution.
Officers also arrested Madison Murrieta, 19, of Kenai, for misdemeanor prostitution and issued a summons to 20-year-old Jonah Lange, of Ninilchik, for the same charge.
Kenai Lt. David Ross said Carpenter, Murrieta and Lange were the only three people police were aware of working at the establishment.
Ross said a charge of prostitution is defined as engaging, agreeing to, or offering sexual conduct in return for a fee and sex trafficking is causing or inducing someone to engage in prostitution.
“The different degrees of it have to do with if you cause or induce somebody under the age of 20 to participate in prostitution that is sex trafficking in the first,” he said. “If you cause or induce somebody over the age of 20 that’s a different level of sex trafficking. If you involve two or more persons in prostitution that’s another sex trafficking charge.”
Police said investigation in the case is ongoing.

We probably need to make this legal like so many other morally disfunct desires of mankind are done all most nonstop now in this ever increasing have it your way nation of ours. Just kidding, but, trying to point out the twisted uncertanity of everything when humans are involved in pleaseure seeking.
Man just think of how much money we could get out of taxes kinda like the pot laws that are passing every where if we only legalized it and then there is the money saved by not having LE waste massive amounts of time gathering evidence to convict them & then having to pay for their living at $65,000 a yr.

Prostitution Arrests
Having waded through the previous comments, I am compelled to respond. Remember, they are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law....no matter how corrupt our court system has become. However, if they have a jury trial, with a "jury of their peers", would all of the jurors have to be whores? That might be interesting. My background is in law enforcement with an agency of the government. I was involved in numerous sting operations to "clean up the streets." Prostitution was the target. The customers were generally the ones arrested and named by name. The whores were frequently arrested, but nearly always made bail. Rarely did a whore do any real time due to the abundance of sleezy lawyers, the money involved, and a sketchy judicial system of the time and place. Bottom line is that we were fighting a losing battle. No matter how many we arrested, there were always too many more willing participants to take their places. I transferred out after realizing the futility of the operation.
Yes, there is a double standard, but it is NOT what you think. The "johns" were always named, unless he was a member of law enforcement. No one really cared who the whores were, unless she was underage. Yes, prostitution is considered the oldest profession. However, that is to satisfy some primal urges and it can also get you some pretty bad untreatable diseases. Not everybody is happily married or is even capable of marriage. I do agree that what you do in your own house should be your own business. However, there are certain legal and moral issues that should not be violated anywhere or anytime.
I see that even after all these years, since I was involved, the stereotype of a massage parlor is still the same.....only the names and the faces have changed.
ADDICTIONS
Many addictions abound, as well as suppliers and this is one of the oldest. It's not much differant than being a politician or loyal party member or sold out union member, or observant religious cult, whore, drug pusher alcohol seller, or hotdog vender, doughnut maker either one. There are some Good addictions, but, the majority are not Good and are ment for evil, self distructive, self gratification only and thus the supply is great due to the demands for those self gratifications of pleasure related addictions. Major money to be made in all areas that provide services to the addicts and it is very hard to fight this evil worlds systems all geared to promote socital downfall and distruction of all morals or godlyness. As i have said many times that slogan of "HAVE IT YOUR WAY, HAVE IT YOUR WAY," is very catchy and is not the New Norm, just the Old Norm being pushed harder now.
It's all about Pleasure and self gratifications which promotes suppliers to ALL these self distructive addicts no matter who they are that are causing the total dismantling of all global societies. I think this calls for a good cup of coffee and a cookie.

My only concern is.Was SAFE sex practiced?The married john's should have,or they would have a hard tie explaining away.The STD they got from the public bathroom.Laws can not,and will not stop the biological urge.Just how much money are the courts going to make off of this bust?Probably not anywhere near the price of the investigation.Sex is usually a non-violent act between two consenting adults.I do agree with SPW on this one.
