Soldotna's Pour House restaurant damaged in blaze

Pour House Pub and Grub owner Molly Poland stands inside the restaurant that was damaged in an early Thursday fire. The restaurant's kitchen, dining room and storage room were damaged by the blaze. Smoke damage was spread throughout. The loss is estimated at $25,000.

An early Thursday morning blaze caused an estimated $25,000 worth of damage to the Pour House restaurant in Soldotna.

Central Emergency Services responded to the fire in the rear of the building and were able to extinguish the blaze. No one was injured in the incident. The restaurant was closed at the time.

Damage was contained to the storage room, some of the kitchen and dining room, CES reported. Smoke damage was reported throughout the building. The value of the property is estimated at $125,000 and is owned by Norm Blakeley.

Although the fire started in the storage room, the cause is still under investigation.

Two structure fires busied local emergency responders at the end of Veterans Day weekend. The fires resulted in no injuries.

The first fire occurred Sunday afternoon. At 1:43 p.m., Central Emergency Services received a report of a structure fire along the Sterling Highway in Soldotna according to a CES press release.

The residence is located on the same lot as the Pour House restaurant.

When fire fighters arrived on scene the building’s manager, a neighbor and some good Samaritans had extinguished the fire. The building sustained about $500 of damage to an exterior wall, according to the press release."
