Governor appoint Fairbanks man to Board of Fisheries

Governor Sean Parnell announced late Wednesday evening the appointment of Reed Morisky, of Fairbanks, to a recently vacated Board of Fisheries seat.  

Morisky is set to replace Bill Brown, of Juneau, who announced his departure from the board with more than a year left in his term.

The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Alaska Legislature, but if confirmed Morisky's term will expire June 30, 2014. 

Morisky is a sport fishing guide who owns Wildnerness Fishing based out of Fairbanks and Nenana and has been in the state since 1981 according to his website

He works as a project manager for the University of Alaska Fairbanks and is a current member of the Fairbanks Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Trout Unlimited, Alaska Outdoor Council and the National Rifle Association, according to the media release.
