Special election day in Soldotna

Voters in Soldotna will head to polls today to pick a candidate to fill the vacant mayor’s seat.

Nels Anderson and Dave Carey are running for the position. The seat became vacant in January, when former mayor Peter Micciche stepped down to serve in the Alaska Senate. The partial term ends in October 2014.

Polls are located in Soldotna City Hall and are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters must be Soldotna residents to be eligible to cast a ballot.
