Police seek two male assailants

Posted: June 7, 2013 - 4:41pm  |  Updated: June 7, 2013 - 7:28pm

Two men attempted to sexually assault a woman Thursday in Soldotna Creek Park, and the Soldotna Police Department is still seeking the assailants.

The 20-year-old Soldotna resident, who fought off the two men at about 4 p.m., described the attackers as follows, according to a press release:

— One man was a roughly 50-year-old white man with gray hair and stubbly facial hair. He was about 6 feet tall, about 220 pounds and carried a pot belly. At the time, he was wearing a white shirt, black pants and a Trustworthy Hardware & Fishing baseball cap.

— The other man was native and in his 20s. He was small; had medium-length, dark hair with a blond streak on the right side of his head; and wore a soul patch under his lip. He was wearing a brown coat; a blue shirt; light-colored blue jeans and a simple, gold wedding band.

The two men brandished folding knife about 4 inches long with a brown, plastic handle; silver ends and “Alaska” printed on the handle.

Sgt. Duane Kant said if residents spot either of the men, report their location to the Kenai or Soldotna Police Department business lines, 907-283-7879 and 907-262-4455, respectively. If it is an emergency, or they are leaving the area, call 911, he said.

If they are spotted, Kant encourages residents to keep them in sight, but not to put themselves in danger.

“I wouldn’t encourage anybody to confront them,” Kant said.

The Soldotna Police Department does not know if the two men are still in the area, he said.

Similar incidents in Soldotna are rare. “Strangers lurking in the bush don’t happen that often,” he said. “Soldotna is a pretty safe community.”

Nowhere is Safe

Sorry state of affairs for Alaskan women. An old punk and a young punk traveling together for the purpose of rape is chilling, sickening, and maddening. Why do men do these things? Are you devolving? You are Beast Humans who need the Bobbit Tool, or death, whichever you choose.

Stand your ground....

Message to freaks like these 2 individuals, Alaska is in the final sign off stage of the "Stand our Ground" law. In fact, if you read the statutes as they are right now, the lady had the right to protect herself with deadly force in the case of Rape/Sexual Assault.

As more Alaskans exercise their right to carry, I pity those 2 fools who run up against an Alaskan Woman who is packing heat! I would laugh my butt off to hear of 2 idiots who showed up to a gunfight with a knife!

Somehow I think 50 year old Chester and 20 year old Punkster would have messed in their depends if they found themselves staring at a lazer dot targeted at their privates?!?!

To all the people of Alaska, it is that time of year again where walks of all low-lives cycle through our community.

My suggestion..."Be Prepared!"

PS: To the 20 Year old victim of this attack: Job well done at fighting back and making your escape, if more people stood their ground, kooks would choose a different state to ply their trades....
