Alaskan Physical Therapy, Inc. will be hosting a free workshop on Tuesdays from 2-4 p.m. beginning June 25 that will meet once per week for six weeks.
The title of the workshop is Living Well Alaska — Better Choices, Better Health. Participants will receive a workbook and learn how to manage symptoms associated with chronic conditions such as Arthritis, Heart Conditions, Sleep Apnea, Diabetes, and Chronic Pain. ■ “QuickBooks 2011: Inventory” ($80) — June 25, 5:30-9 p.m. Alaska SBDC wants to help you to be efficient in tracking your records so to get an overview of inventory in QuickBooks, practice filling out a PO for items; track the receipt of the inventory items in QuickBooks, to adjust inventory manually or enter stock loss or increase, the create, build and edit inventory assemblies (finished goods) and also to set up and use units of measure. This is all part of the Inventory workshop.
■ Start a Business (free) — 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. June 25. Register by Friday. Bryan Zak will answer your questions on starting a business on the Kenai Peninsula while preparing you for a productive relationship with Alaska Small Business Development Center and our partner programs. You will learn why you should register for our free counseling services and how to sign up for our various training events.
■ Profit Mastery ($200)— 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 18 and 19, and 9 a.m. to noon on June 20. Bryan Zak will present the Profit Mastery Seminar course to help set goals for future businesses, control spending and pricing and participants will leave with a process to assess the performance of a business and strategy to implement change. In addition to program content, participants will master the materials through quizzes, discussion, guided practice and real-life application to their own business.
The Kenai Peninsula Economic Development District is now offering hands-on QuickBooks training. Topics covered in training sessions include managing bank accounts; invoicing customers; paying bills, processing payroll; reconciling accounts; monitoring profitability; and creating financial reports. Classes are three days during the third week of each month from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Kenai Peninsula Job Center in Kenai. The fee is $350. The next scheduled session is June 19-21.
