Five in hospital from Kasilof accident

A three vehicle collision today in Kasilof sent five people to the hospital, according to a Central Emergency Services official.

All five people involved in the accident were speaking before they were transported to Central Peninsula Hospital, CES Engineer Reed Quinton said.

The accident happened at about 4 p.m. at mile 115 on the Sterling Highway in Kasilof, he said.

One SUV flipped in the accident, and another SUV caught fire and was fully engulfed, he said. The other vehicle involved was a motor home, he said.

The accident is under Alaska State Trooper investigation.
