Two in stable condition after highway accident

Two women were injured and transported to Central Peninsula Hospital following a car accident Tuesday.

 

Central Emergency Services responded to the accident. CES Captain Lesley Quelland said both women are in stable condition.

The accident happened after 2 p.m. at mile 102 of the Sterling Highway.

Both injured women were the drivers of the two vehicles involved in the accident. There was a female juvenile in one of the vehicles who was not injured.

There is extensive damage to both vehicles, Quelland said.

Alaska State Troopers are investigating the cause of the accident.
