Troopers investigate weekend hit and run in Nikiski

A pickup truck driver hit a pedestrian in Nikiski and fled the scene Saturday. The driver of a green Ford extended cab pickup struck Nikiski resident Jonathan D. Demilta, 19, just before 12:30 a.m.

Demilta was treated at Central Peninsula Hospital for the severe, but non-life threatening injuries, according to an Alaska State Trooper dispatch.

The incident occurred at Holt-Lamplight Road and Anderson Road. The front end of the driver side of the pickup was damaged during the incident, according to the report.

Troopers are investigating the incident and ask that anyone with information call the Soldotna Public Safety Communication Center at 262-4453.
