The League of Women Voters of the Kenai Peninsula will hold its monthly meeting at noon, Nov. 8 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna. Registration is under way for Men’s City League Basketball at the Kenai Recreation Center. The team registration fee is $650 and is due Nov. 9. Player fee is $50 for each player. The 2013-14 season begins Dec. 2 For more information, call the Kenai Rec Center at 283-3855.

Peninsula Take-a-Break will have its annual Country Craft Fair and luncheon on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Solid Rock Conference Center. There will be donated handcrafted items for sale, as well as items sold in silent and outcry auctions. Women are encouraged to bring their items for sale by 10:30 a.m. Proceeds of the fair go to Stonecroft Ministries. Inspirational speaker will be Ginger Mayer. The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League members and members from the South Alaska Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will host a Christmas Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 16 at the North Lutheran Church on North Forest Drive.

Sales of baked goods and craft items will help to fund mission projects locally, nationally and internationally.

Redoubt Homemakers FCE (Family, Community, Education), a non-profit ladies organization, meets at 11 a.m. at Nikiski Fire State No. 1 on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. The group discusses community information and works on plans for upcoming bazaars and other events. The club, formed in 1963, makes donations to local organizations and is part of a district, state and national organization. Anyone interested is invited to attend a meeting. The Lost and Found Grief Self Help Group is open free of charge 7-9 p.m. every Tuesday at the Christ Lutheran Church for anyone who has lost a loved one and is struggling coping with the grief. A certified grief counselor will lead the group, and participants will remain on a first-name basis only.
