Two arrested in homemade bomb incident

A 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested in Soldotna on Saturday after throwing a homemade bomb into the roadway.

When Elijah Jackson and the minor, both of Soldotna, threw the lit bottle of flammable liquid, it nearly hit a passing car with two passengers at about 7 p.m. on Arylynn Way.

Alaska State Troopers responded to the incident and arrested Jackson and the 17 year old on charges of reckless endangerment and two counts of third-degree assault.

Troopers spokesperson Megan Peters said the throw was random and then car came around the corner.

No one was injured in the incident.

Jackson is jailed at Wildwood Correctional Center. His next court date is Nov. 27.
