■ The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce and the Kenai Chamber of Commerce will hold a joint luncheon meeting on Wednesday at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. The topic will be Obamacare and Affordable Care Act for Businesses and Individuals.


The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual chamber even in January to recongize business and individuals that provide outstanding service to the chamber and the community. Awards include Business of the year, Person of the year, Excellence in Profession, Volunteer of the year, Pioneer Award and others. The Peninsula Clarion is pleased to announce that Randi Keaton has been promoted to circulation manager.

In her new role, Keaton manages the circulation department, which handles print and digital subscriptions. Keaton also oversees the mailroom, newspaper delivery drivers and is the Newspapers in Education program coordinator.

Keaton joined the Clarion staff in 2007 as a circulation assistant.

Clarion Publisher Stan Pitlo said he was pleased to be able to promote from within the company.

“Randi has done a good job, and we’re excited to give her the opportunity to be the circulation manager,” Pitlo said.

Kenai and Soldonta area banks and Credit Unions are hosting the “Barrel in each Branch” Food and Fund Drive to benefit the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank. When making a deposit, participants are asked to consider making a deposit to the Food Bank and or bring canned food items to deposit in the barrels placed in area banks. Food and cash donations are accepted at the following locations:

■ First National Bank Alaska branches

■ KeyBank branches

■ Wells Fargo branches (cash deposit only)

■ Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union inside Walmart

There are also Food Drive Barrels at Fred Meyer, IGA Country Foods, Three Bears and Save U More.
