■ The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce Holiday luncheon will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Soldotna Regional Sports Complex. The luncheon will include holiday fun and the winner of the Unwrap Soldotna Buy local grand prize winner will be announced.


■ The Kenai Chamber of Commerce will not hold a luncheon Wednesday.

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual chamber even in January to recongize business and individuals that provide outstanding service to the chamber and the community. Awards include Business of the year, Person of the year, Excellence in Profession, Volunteer of the year, Pioneer Award and others. Kenai and Soldonta area banks and Credit Unions are hosting the “Barrel in each Branch” Food and Fund Drive to benefit the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank. When making a deposit, participants are asked to consider making a deposit to the Food Bank and or bring canned food items to deposit in the barrels placed in area banks. Food and cash donations are accepted at the following locations:

■ First National Bank Alaska branches

■ KeyBank branches

■ Wells Fargo branches (cash deposit only)

■ Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union inside Walmart

There are also Food Drive Barrels at Fred Meyer, IGA Country Foods, Three Bears and Save U More.
