1 injured in Nikiski domestic violence incident

Alaska State Troopers have released the name of one person involved in a Sunday domestic violence incident where shots were fired in Nikiski.

Chad S. Jones, 38, of Nikiski, was injured during the altercation and treated at Central Peninsula Hospital, according to a trooper dispatch.

Troopers spokesperson Beth Ipsen would not disclose if Jones’ injuries were due to gunshot wounds.

After Jones was released from CPH at about 10 a.m. on Tuesday, he was arrested for a $5,000 warrant for charges of first-degree burglary, first-degree theft and two counts of second-degree theft. All are felony charges.

The date of the crime, according to a state court database is June 6. He is being held at Wildwood Pretrial Facility.

No charges have been filed in relation to the Sunday incident, Ipsen said.

Troopers are continuing their investigation.
