Kodiak bear spotted over the weekend

KODIAK, Alaska (AP) — The Alaska Department of Fish and Game says an adult bear was spotted around Kodiak over the weekend.

The Kodiak Daily Mirror says an observation form from the agency says the bear was seen roaming in bushes on Selief Lane Saturday afternoon.

The caller asked for an officer to check the area, but no bear was found when the officer responded.

The bear sighting is the first reported in the City of Kodiak since late February.
