Campfire restrictions lifted

Restrictions on where campfires are allowed on the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge were lifted Friday after recent rainfall reduced the fire danger on the Kenai Peninsula. 

Residents and visitors to the refuge can now have campfires outside of the metal fire grates in the Refuge's developed campgrounds — though Refuge managers urge people to use "extreme caution," according to a media release.
