ConocoPhillips Alaska reports $627M 2Q earnings

Posted: July 31, 2014 - 8:57pm  |  Updated: July 31, 2014 - 9:06pm

JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — ConocoPhillips Alaska, one of the North Slope’s major players, reported adjusted second-quarter earnings of $627 million.

That compares to adjusted earnings of $585 million during the second quarter of 2013, a figure that does not include a one-time, $97 million settlement.

The company reported earnings of $598 million for the first quarter of 2014.

In a release, the company attributed higher prices and, to a lesser degree, the startup of liquefied natural gas exports from its Kenai plant for the higher earnings, relative to the first quarter of the year.

Vote YES to repeal SB 21.

All the talk about the oil companies not being able to make a profit on our oil and yet in SEC filings they have to make the truth comes out.

Conoco made a whopping 41.8% profit on Alaska’s oil. Exxon saw profits increase by 28 percent, while BP saw increases of 36 percent.

That’s increases over what they were already making and those earnings make them the most profitable corporations in the world.

Parnell thinks that’s not enough, he, and the Republican majority would have you believe they need corporate welfare, a handout. A twenty billion dollar handout.

Vote yes to repeal SB 21, vote for a fair market valuation of our oil. Stop the giveaway.

The vote no people will tell you the oil companies can’t make it without the giveaway. The truth is the oil companies make more profits on Alaska oil than anywhere else.
Vote YES to repeal.

And then vote out Parnell and the Republican majority.

Yes to Repeal SB21

Wake up Alaskan's. Aren't you tired of allowing your elected officials to give away YOUR money($20 Billion over 10 years with NO guarantee of anything in return.) to RICH corporations? Well! That is exactly. What is happening with SB21.Do you not think? That these monies could have actually been spent on something. That would truly BENEFIT Alaska, and Alaskan's. Not just benefit the oil corporations, and Parnell's cronies.
