A man found dead Thursday in Sterling has been identified as Leroy Sather.

Sather, 47, was found on a four-wheel trail on Pacer Street on Thursday afternoon. Troopers initially noted that the death was likely due to exposure. A preliminary examination by the State Medical Examiner’s Office ruled out foul play and tentatively confirmed that Sather’s death was due to exposure, said Capt. Andy Greenstreet of the Soldotna troopers.

“They’ll be going through a full autopsy to confirm, but right now it’s looking like what we thought initially,” Greenstreet said.
