This event will start at 9 a.m. for check-in and the race will begin at 10 a.m. at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center, June 18, and is open to all ages. Pre-registration is available but not required. The cost is $15 per participant and includes t-shirt. The Fun Run offers a 3- and 5-mile race with five age categories. This Coed, three-on-three volleyball tournament, with prizes for winners, will start at 5:30 p.m., July 8, at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center gynamsium. The registration deadline is July 1, and costs $3 per participant who must be 16-years-old or older. For more information call 776-8800 or visit northpenrec.com.

This event is for all ages and will go from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, July 23 at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center. NPRSA offers the venue for the community garage sale on an annual basis for participants to buy or sell their goods.

The vendor registration deadline is July 15. The even is free for attendees, and the vendor fee is $5 for space. For more information call 776-8800 or visit northpenrec.com.

This event, is an official skills competition of major league baseball, and will be held at 5p.m., Friday, May 13, at the North Peninsula Recreation Service Area field. Boys and girls 7-14 years old are welcome to come, and must preregister at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center. It is free to participate. Winners will be compared with other local Alaska event qualifiers for the chance to compete during Major League Baseball’s All Stars Week this fall. This is a a community wide event held every year in Nikiski, and will take place at noon, Saturday, June 18 this year, and is located at the North Peninsula Recreation Service Area. Children’s games begin at 1 p.m.

NPRSA coordinates with the Nikiski Firefighters Association to organize a fun filled day of activities including food and carnival booths, music, games with prizes, a Fun Run, and free family prize drawings.

Many activities are free, carnival tickets cost $0.50 cents each. The booth registration deadline is May 27.
