Romney 1, Obama 0

Posted: October 5, 2012 - 4:46pm  |  Updated: October 8, 2012 - 10:28am

President Romney. Think about it, Democrats For those of you who have been lulled into a “no way” view of Mitt’s chances, the first presidential debate was a badly needed rude awakening. From your point of view, it had better be, because Romney walked all over President Barack Obama.

Actually, it was more a case of the president volunteering to be a floor mat, with his tentative — no, make that timid — approach to the challenger’s comparatively aggressive presentation. Time and again, Mr. Obama let Mr. Romney get away with explanations, justification and rationales for his campaign positions that were simply preposterous. When he did respond, the normally eloquent leader of the free world seemed to get lost in his old college-professor mindset, nearly mumbling his comments.

At times, he seemed almost as inept as the moderator, Jim Lehrer, who made one wonder if we could have been better off without him taking part. Obama appeared as if he didn’t want to be there either.

In the process, he managed to bring his momentum in this election to a crashing halt. While the impact of these debates is, uh, debatable, the fact is that the president could have used this first one to force Romney onto the ropes; instead, he let him not only slip away, but land a flurry of punches.

Much will be made about the fact-checking that has now become a part of the journalistic routine at events like this. An honorable pursuit, without a doubt, but it has limited impact, if any. First of all, both these guys played fast and loose with the truth. Their assertions about their policies and their opponent’s often were outright dishonest.

Beyond that, the sad reality is that voters don’t want to deal with honest complexity. We are lazy, preferring not to have to tax our brains about taxes or make the effort to exercise judgment over health-care reform. Mitt Romney and his handlers understand that, so he can routinely misrepresent his positions and get away with it. President Obama, to the extent that he did participate in the conversation, was taken over by his Professor Obama persona and the compulsion to bore.

Either that, or, as David Gergen, on CNN, observed: “I don’t think anybody’s ever spoken to him like that over the last four years. I think he found that not only surprising but offensive in some ways.” Certainly, President Obama was on the offensive this time. What’s interesting about Gergen’s reaction is that he has worked for a slew of presidents, both Republican and Democrat. So David knows a thing or two about keeping one’s opinions to himself in the Oval Office.

The short time remaining is packed with events that will determine whose office it will be next year. Of course we have economic news, like the slightly encouraging jobs report. And we have three more debates, beginning with the confrontation between the vice-presidential contenders. For sheer suspenseful entertainment value, that one has great potential, since we will all wonder whether Joe Biden can manage to make it through the entire evening without saying something so foolish he ends up embarrassing the ticket. Again.

More importantly, we have two more Barack Obama encounters with Mitt Romney, in which the president can actually show up. He mailed it in the first time around. Even when he wasn’t speaking, he was speaking volumes. The split screen showed him listening to Romney and not quite knowing what to do with what he was hearing. At least he wasn’t caught looking at his watch. One can only assume that his debate team had warned him how that had done in President George H.W. Bush. Need we mention that Bush the first was a one-termer?

If Barack Obama and his team don’t regard this bumbling performance as a slap in the face, he may be one, too.

What if?

First off WoW was blocked by the way so he will not be trying to get you to wake up to reality any longer and i don't really like this blogging stuff as i can talk to my wall and get more understanding of what up with the world, instead of most comments i've seen here.
BUT!!
What if Obama can read the writing on the outhouse walls and wants to lose the election so Romney will be faced with the total Global Economic collapse for their One World Order?
Obama may be doing all this stuff which shows he could care less what America thinks because we have already crossed over the line of no return and the end is near for america.
As stated by some one a democracy usually last 250 years and we are over that mark and facing total collapse.
What if Obama is running for cover and Romney the Mormon is set to take the blame?
Either way, America is in some major troubles and will not recover from what ALL Past Presidents have worked us towards and Obama has been the 'Closer' that would bring it all together for them.

I wrote the same thing on 10/09/12 because I had read it on LIBERAL blogs on the internet, It was a twist that had never occurred to me.

“””A couple of left-wing blogs are asking the question:
Did Obama throw the entire election away ON PURPOSE?
If BHO & Biden keep up this poor performance, it’s not an accidental fumble. What does he know about the future, or about the plans of our enemies, that he would rather not be in the White House next term?
Why does Joe Biden keep shouting those self-destructive sound bites? “””

Rather than the ugly version:
Democrats are the party of welfare weasels, entitlement mobs & thugs. They call you a filthy degenerate Capitalist pig, then rob you to live off your paycheck, & raise your taxes.

(But only till they throw some FeeCees.) then all’s fair. Bidens rude unprofessional 'occupy type' behavior at the debate last night was the most perfectly clear display of unmasked liberal aggression.

Interesting that you

Interesting that you understand the difference between the 60’s radical socialist 70 year old man, and the courteous well-mannered young conservative. Ryan was a class act. Glad that you pointed out their age though…..

The old hippie will be peeeing in his diapers and drooling in his oatmeal soon, praying the Catholic Cardinals will forgive him for promoting abortions (he’s not going to get out of purgatory for that one.) I'm glad he promotes it, less radical libs.

The professional young man will be running the government for the next 30 years. As long as Alaska remains overwhelmingly conservative with a large number of independent people, most of us will be ok here, in spite of the active members of the Socialist Party USA on the Kenai.

Ryan 48 Biden 44 CNN POLL:

CNN has apparently made the sale among independent voters. The network’s biggest skew was among independents, 17 % above the national average with that group.
But CNN also scored 11 % ABOVE the baseline with registered Democrats.
Republicans watch CNN in fewer numbers: 8 % BELOW the base number.

The final poll will be on Nov

The final poll will be on Nov 6th. America will decide then who will lead this country. I just hope it is the one who supports 100% of Americans, not someone who disregards 47% of Americans
The days of open bribery like we saw a few years back no longer play. They don't have to do it illegally anymore, now they can just use superpacs. Now we no longer know who is pouring money into anyones campaigns. If you think Shell, BP, and Exxon hasn't spent money on "their" candidates in this state, I will buy you a bridge to nowhere.

Whoever gets elected will be absolutely powerless until we can bring change to the gridlock that has defined politics.
Congress approval is at 7%, that is the lowest approval rating since the birth of congress.

We as a country must elect people into the congress and senate who can work together to solve problems. If the mentality of the blue vs red war continues, we will all lose regardless who is president.

The hatred, disrespect and constant bile spewed out by so called news agencies on both sides is a part of the problem.

The super rich and special interest groups now have open reign to pour billions of dollars to get their puppet elected.

Even in our own state we have a oil industry guy as governor. Locally we have micchhe who works for big oil headed to Juneau. Pretty soon big oil will have bought and paid for enough elected officials to get exactly what they demand.
We will go from an Alaska owner state to an "OWNED" state.

This new generation will probably do the same. However it also got me thinking. The stats show that most of the active military folks vote Republican. Do Republican kids join up in mass, or do young kids become conservative AFTER joining and fighting?

Does war, sacrifice, death, destruction, commitment to a cause, camaraderie, teamwork, or fighting for the United States of America encourage conservatism overall? A few people come out hating America something fierce.

why he laughed

Biden laughed at the debate, but Why?

Vice President Joe Biden (D) laughed hysterically and derisively during the debate with U. S. Congressman Paul Ryan (R) about extremely important and serious issues. The question is why?

The answer is found in the liberal ‘Rules for Radicals’ A pragmatic Primer for Realistic Radicals by Saul D. Alinsky 1971.
The Community organizing protest-king wrote about his rule #5 that ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. This is the
Rule that Biden followed explicitly. He used this WEAPON.

It is impossible to counteract ridicule or being laughed at. It causes your opponent to become infuriated, and then their angry reaction works to your advantage.

Knowing and understanding this weapon of attack by the Vice President of the United States against a U. S. Congressman during a debate on issues of public concern, tells us just how far the 1960’s radicals have gone. They are all the way at the top of the Federal Government in our country. They are the TOP.

Rep. Ryan did quite well under attack. He held his ground.

"What Knoller doesn’t

"What Knoller doesn’t specify, naturally, is what the debt was when Bush began his presidency. And that’s a glaring omission, because unless you don’t know that, you can’t accurately compare the records. So here it is.

In 2001, the national debt Bush inherited was around $5.7T, give or take. Some of that debt in 2001 has to be attributed to Clinton, just as some of the debt in 2009 when Obama took office has to be attributed to Bush. When W. left office in 2009, the debt was nearly $11T. That’s an increase of 89 percent.

Under Obama, the debt has increased from about $11T to about $15T, about 40 percent.

And what’s behind that increase? Historically low taxes and historically low revenues — and the worst financial crash since the 1930s. There’s been no “binge” in spending, as Knoller wants you to believe."

worst financial crash

So let’s do the fifth grade math with your numbers.

Bush - 4 years 44% (some attributed to Clinton)
Bush - 4 years 44% (some attributed to war)
Obama 4 years 40% (some attributed to Bush)

Does it matter what is behind the debt (the pending disaster of huge enormity) Our paychecks are being wasted. Both parties are spending on foreign & domestic WELFARE & ENTITLEMENTS.

Ps: are you talking about Mark Knoller from CBS?
Because he also said that under BHO the national debt has had the ‘most rapid increase in the debt under any U.S. President.’ His opinion.

You got the part correct about the ‘drop in tax revenues’ however YOU OMMITED the part about;
INCREASED FEDERAL SPENDING (much of it related to the government’s actions to address the crisis in the housing and financial markets) BOTH which contribute to the robust growth in this deficit. Together. In cooperation. Equally.

****Just a reminder to the Kenai Peninsula residents****
George Bush is not running for president. Obama is.

And if (as you confirm) under the Obama presidency the United States of America has, in your words, “””Historically low taxes and historically low revenues — and the worst financial crash since the 1930s””””

Why would anyone vote for him again.

Can He bring home the bacon?

We have one major problem to overcome on the road to getting Romney elected. The folks that work for a living in America today are outnumbered bye the folks that VOTE for a living. Now rumor, just rumor; says that if they go ahead and let Romney get elected they will have to get of the couch and get a JOB! I hope they can avoid the high cost of working for a living, which is of course paying the way for those to lazy to pay thier own way. If being lazy and taking a handout is availed to these folks it's allways the first choice. The way welfair is susposed to work is a hand up out of poverty, not a lifestyle to grow accustomed too. If it doesn't [filtered word] you off to watch these people savoring the last drop of blood from a turnip they don't even know how to grow then your part of the problem. These "Voters" know that Obama can deliver the bacon right on the backs of the American work force. Heck he can deliver "Pie" as in pie in the sky, health care, food stamps, and pay your electric bill while the "Voters" sit on the couch. If we continue down this pie in the sky pathway I'm affraid no one will really win in this upcoming election. We cannot allow America to loose another election, this election is so very important, as America cannot stand to loose another Election! If Obama wins America LOOSES!

Clinton commits Sueeeeecide

Hillary finally figured out a way to get off this American Buslines speeding bus thats headed off the cliff of distruction, that ALL of America is heading over.
No matter the politico-religious party offiliation, OUR Nation is going off that cliff.
Hillary yanked loose of Obama and Bidens grasp on her with their trying to throw her under the bus.
Hillary literally jumped in front of that bus, commiting political sueeeeeeecide due to her politico-religious beliefs espoused by the Dems, and i really do wonder as to why, even though i know the answer.

As for not complaining about the shrub/bush family dreams and their part in Americas downfall, i must say that thats not true.
First off please show me past clarion posts to prove that no Repub ever said anything against the bushs policies which have also aided in OUR nations down ward plummit.
Second, if one would remember i have many times stated that Bush and almost ALL past presidents are working for the very same end game and have in fact done many of the very same things Obama has done to push America and All the world towards their end game of a OWO.

No matter who wins the election in 21 days from now, things will not change and only get worse for all Americans.
ALL Americans/Alaskans for the ones that voted, or did not vote.
We Americans/Alaskans shall ALL be crying no matter who wins.
Suggestion: Grab a hold on something dependable & stable and hang on, as it's about to get worse at warp speed now i do believe as we all can see economic collapse coing our way daily.
As Rashah McChesney's article a while back stated 'Something Wicked, this way comes' and it's not just winter.
