I have read recently that the Kenai River Sport Fishing Association sponsoring the Kenai River Classic has been moved from July to August to target Silver Salmon.
Why not help our communities of Kenai and Soldotna and move the ‘Classic’ to every two years and target humpies.

EXCELLENT IDEA! Well Said!
great idea!!!
mean while let us do what we joe fishermen proposed years ago, limit the Kenai guides to 100 which can only fish 3 days a week by motor and the other one day we give them by drift boat. Next stop all guiding on the Kasilof river with maybe just folks that have guided there 20 years ago, that will shut out most everyone I bet. Then have a special permit drawing for dip netting, eliminate personal use set netting, and while at it cut the set netters and drift fleet back by 2 thirds, now we will see all user groups tightening the belt for the poor fishery, no more fish fights as everyone is in the same boat and I bet the Kings will return after 4 or 5 years what do ya bet?
humpies
I like it!
First the Kings now the Silvers
They killed the Kings off, so now let them get the Silvers. How about an open season on the guides ?
Have the classic in Oregon
Most of the guides are from oregon or Washington state, so have a Salmon Classic down their in their dead rivers. Maybe a Sturgeon classic with no limit or size or number of guides fishing them nonstop since they already killed off their Salmon runs. Hows about YEAR ROUND ALASKA RESIDENTS ONLY GUIDES AND LIMIT THESE NUMBERS AS WELL?
