Heritage Place staff commended

I would like to commend The Central Peninsula Hospital Heritage Place and the staff for excellent care given to one of our seniors recently. Several Cooper Landing seniors have resided at The Heritage Place in the past and more recently one recovering from a heart valve replacement.

I had the opportunity to visit on several occasions and enjoyed several meals with the residents. Jamie, a kitchen aide, was especially friendly and walked me through meal procedures. She made our time with our friend a wonderful experience. By the way, the food was excellent, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

During one of my visits I got to watch one of the therapy sessions and was truly amazed with the progress that was being made in her recovery. I joined in on one of the sing-along activities, she proudly pointed out a quilt square she helped with and talked about other activities she participated in. I watched the joy she got from holding a small dog brought into the facility by another family member. Dogs are another form of therapy the residents enjoy.

We're glad to have our friend back home again after three months. Martha will return for outpatient therapy, but she will miss all the activities, the three square meals a day and all the friends she has made during her time at Heritage Place. A big thank you goes out to the staff and volunteers who help to make The Heritage Place a home for all friends and family members who need a little extra help.
