Solution may be quieter stock cars

I had a race track memory the other day when reading the problems locally. My first trip with my father was to a dirt track with open wheeled Indy style cars racing on a half mile track. This was way back in the 1940s, very exciting and could they make the dirt fly on the corners.

The races could be just as exciting if the cars and motorcycles would simply install mufflers on the vehicles. Oh Yea, it takes away a couple of horse power, and costs a few dollars, but would be a very simple way to make neighbors happy and also continue racing. If I were a driver, I would rather be racing than sitting at home twiddling my thumbs. Give it some thought; it would still be very exciting to watch.
