TOTE helps the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank

Totem Ocean Express assisted the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank with transportation of a freezer/cooler unit from Tacoma to Anchorage recently. Weaver Brothers delivered the equipment from Anchorage to Soldotna. The new unit allows expanded freezer and refrigeration storage at the Food Bank’s facility located off Kalifornsky Beach Road near Soldotna. The facility is undergoing extensive expansion and improvements as more families are asking for food assistance each month.

An average of over 700 households seek help each month to supplement their food budgets. The Kenai Peninsula Food Bank serves residents of the Kenai Peninsula Borough from Homer to Seward and points in between.

Last fall, TOTE donated transportation of a Ford refrigerated cargo van from Tacoma to Anchorage. The van donated by Newman’s Own allows Food Bank staff to deliver items as a mobile food pantry to various sites.
