Oktoberfest hits all the right notes

On behalf of the members, listeners, and staff of KDLL we would like to thank the members of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Kenai Lodge 2425 for organizing and hosting the 12th Annual KDLL Oktoberfest! We truly appreciate their efforts sponsoring this event.

As we all know, no German dinner is complete without Oktoberfest beer—this year provided by the wonderful folks at Kassik’s Kenai Brew Stop.

In addition, we would like to thank the KDLL volunteers who helped cook, serve and then clean up the Kenai Elks Lodge. Volunteers, Elks members and attendees enjoyed a great feast of bratwurst, sauerkraut, lentil soup and appfelkucken.

Thanks once again to Die Alaska Blaskapelle for providing the polka, waltz, chaddish, and chicken dance music. This is a great band of performers who have provided the live music for each of our Oktoberfest Festivals, year in, year out. Without the traditional “oompah” music these folks play, it just wouldn’t be right!
