Thanks for making Harvest Art Auction a success

The Peninsula Art Guild's 12th annual Harvest Art Auction packed in a full house to celebrate local art at the Kenai Fine Arts Center in Old Towne Kenai. A scrumptious dinner by Kenai Caterers, exceptional music and song by Troubadour North, a lovely wine selection from Country Liquors, and a unique neighborhood beer from Kenai River Brewing Company plus an exceptional array of local original art, donated by community artists, were all part of the merriment.

Beyond the partying the art guild gleaned profits to help sustain it for another year. Auctioneer Mayor Peter Micciche stimulated the bidding with humor and acumen. The crowd responded with generosity and good will. Donations from Marathon Oil, Fred Meyers, FedEx Ground, Home Depot, and Printer's Ink contributed to the success of the fundraiser by underwriting some of the evening's expenses. The local Alaska Democratic Party, Clayton Hillhouse, and attorneys, Joe Kashi, Bob Malloy and Kristine Schmidt donated funds to the cause as well. The Harvest Auction Committee, headed by PAG board member, Cindy Finwall, out-did themselves with fresh ideas and loads of hard work.

The Peninsula Art Guild exists to support art, bringing local artists together at the Kenai Fine Arts Center to share their work with everyone who comes through the door. We truly appreciate the help coming from all facets of our community. Art underpins and enriches all of our lives ... right here in the central Peninsula. Thanks for your support.
