Community makes region ski meet a success

It takes a whole village to create a successful region ski meet! On behalf of Skyview High School, I would like to thank the Tsalteshi Trails Association and the parents of our local ski team members for their help on the trails and behind the scenes. Cathy Carrow organized parents from Soldotna, Kenai Central, and Skyview High Schools to assist with timing, monitoring the course, and providing food for volunteers and athletes. Renee Merkes and Jon Lillevik served again as our chief timers and made sure we had quick and accurate results following the races. Mitch Michaud and his crew had the stadium area set up early in the morning so athletes could have a fair start and finish to their races. I would like to especially thank Bill Holt and his grooming crew. None of the races would be possible without the hours of work they do preparing the trails for racing.

Visiting teams consistently compliment us on the wonderful trails and excellent races held at Tsalteshi Trails. We are fortunate to have a world class trail system right here in Soldotna and a community that is willing to step up and make quality events possible!
