Thanks to Elks Lodge for DARE support

On behalf of the Kenai Police Department, I wish to thank the Kenai Elks Lodge members for your continued support of the DARE program. The Kenai Elks Lodge is the sole financial support for the DARE program in the Kenai schools for the 2012 school year. Your contributions make it possible to supply hundreds of Kenai students with the DARE materials necessary to participate in this program. DARE students are able to learn about drugs, how drugs affect the body, friendships, peer pressure, advertising, ways to be in charge, and, most importantly, how to make good choices. Three fifth grade classes at Mt. View Elementary recently attended a DARE graduation held at the school. The graduation ceremony was attended by family, friends, and community leaders of our DARE graduates. The ceremony included recognition for every graduate, class skits demonstrating application of DARE lessons learned, and DARE essay readers representing all three classes.

I wish to thank you for dedication to the DARE program. I have seen how DARE has a positive effect on the lives of children. I appreciate all of your support and look forward to working together to make a difference in the lives of children.
