In 2002, Alaskans overwhelming supported the development of our natural gas through an All-Alaska Gasline. Ten years later, we the people, continue to wait. Why do our Alaskan Legislators continue to beg Washington DC and the oil companies to build the All-Alaska Gasline?
We argue over oil production while we put natural gas back down into the ground. Oil is used for transportation. Natural gas is cheaper and cleaner for motor transportation. It has been estimated that this nation spent $7 trillion since 1976 on our military ventures to protect and support our oil production around the world. What has been the human cost? Think what Alaska could do with our production of natural gas. I understand the auto industry can and have produced natural gas fueled automobiles. In a recent interview, T. Boone Pickens stated his belief -- we will go down in history as the "dumbest" people ever if we do not develop our natural gas. It is time we demand our elected politicians, in Juneau, to develop our natural gas resources and become the most productive nation and state in the union called the United States.

It's not about helping of aiding the people with lower fuel prices. It's about controling the people with higher fuel prices, thus govt. will always side with Bigger govt. against the people as a team, union that was elected to do what they deem best for all, when in reality it's not best for all.
This is what happens when we continue to REelect those that claim only their desire to serve the people, when in reality serve self interests & advancements in one form of praise or another from those already higher up that greedy self chart.
If we would REelect no one, then we would have the same thing, only not as prolonged & eazy for the Big Boys.
We really can't blame our REelected officials as they play this game which we make eazier by REelecting them.
Your correct, there are many cheaper fuel sources, but thats not whats desired by the Comptrollers.
