Thanks for community support during Polar Plunge

In the back drop of Mt. Redoubt on March 17 along the east side icy shores of Cook Inlet more than a hand full of brave residents took the plunge for kids in the second annual Central Peninsula Polar plunge. Those residents were: Hunter Brooks, Andrew Jones, Zybrylle Gage, Dyan Jackson, Rylee Jackson, Tanar Jackson, Pastor Jason Evoy, Mandee Jackson, Jennifer Luckett, Ryan Genzel, Roger Lay, Megan Morse, Leslie Morcon, John Winters, Christina Glenzel, Kenneth Schwalb, Denali Glenzel, Mike Luckett. Collectively more than $3,300.00 was raised in the effort for local youth organizations. As the host organization, Youth Restoration Corps would like to express our sincerest appreciation to the sponsors of the Central Peninsula Polar Plunge: Ron's Rent It Center, KSRM Radio Group, Peninsula Clarion, Craig Taylor Equipment, Kenai Elks Lodge, Three Bear's Alaska, Fred Meyers, Sportsmen Warehouse, Safeway Kenai, Polar Screens, Kenaitze Indian Tribe, Central Emergency Service K-Beach, Kenai Peninsula Borough, S&R enterprises, and the Alaska Department Natural Resources. We would also like to thank all community individuals and business who made pledges to those taking the plunge for kids. It was a beautiful fun day and all the proceeds that were raised will go to support Friends of Athletes with Disabilities, Youth Restoration Corps, Kenai Peninsula Native Youth Olympic Wolf Pack team, and Bridges Community Resource Network. The Central Peninsula Polar Plunge thanks the community and all the jumpers who took the plunge for kids of the Central Peninsula. We especially would also like to say a big thanks to those CES professionals who braved the cold waters and ice to assure that the event was safe and uneventful, other than a lot of fun for all. Thank you.
