Accomplishments of women should be celebrated

Culturally, International Womens Day, Week, Month and Year and the many accomplishments of women around the world need to be emphasized more by our news media. Maybe men would begin to realize the value of including women in discussions of their health concerns, maybe the ignorance and hatred for women expressed by our Republican leader Rush Limbaugh would begin to be minimized, maybe male politicians would understand the damage being done to our world by Rush Limbaugh, Karl Rove, Republican governors, John Boehner, Mitch O'Connell, Eric Cantor, maybe Democratic men would not be so afraid of criticising Rush Limbaugh, maybe men would become aware they are being left behind and young children are being damaged by their attitudes. Already the world is becoming a better place because more women are showing up, stepping up, asserting themselves and making good things happen around the world. Wake up men, take your heads out of the sand and get with it.

Read the latest Newsweek. Listen to the news. Push for President Obama, our Commander in Chief, and Leon Panetta, Secretary of Defense, to remove Rush Limbaugh's program from Armed Forces Radio. Just maybe the number of sexual assaults against women taking place in our armed forces might decrease and our world might become a much better place. The number of sexual assults and domestic abuse cases in Alaska might also go down.
