Thanks to city for helping with spring athletics

The students, staff, administration, and parents of students at Kenai Central High School would like to thank the City of Kenai for their continued help in making KCHS a better place to be. As crazy as it may seem, we have been holding practices for our spring sports since the middle of March. As one might guess the two feet of snow on the ground has made holding track, baseball, softball and boys and girls soccer practices a little tricky. This is where the City of Kenai has stepped in to help. They have blown the snow off of our track, soccer field, baseball field and softball field as well has providing us the use of the Kenai Ice Rink to hold softball and baseball practice in. As a result of this help, Kenai Central, Kenai Middle, and Nikiski High are currently holding practices on our track and we hosted a track meet on April 17; many local community members have been able to use the track for their personal needs; and, with the help of a few more sunny days, we will be playing games on our soccer, baseball and softball fields by the first of May. Without the help of the City of Kenai none of these things would be happening. We are so fortunate to live in a town where the city mayor, staff, and employees do so much for the youth of our community. That old saying that it takes a village to raise a child is very true and The City of Kenai is certainly doing their part. Once again a big thank you goes out to the City of Kenai staff and employees for helping to make our village one of the best places around to raise a child in.
