Cohoe FireWise prepares for fire season

It is the start of the Wildfire Season - fire danger "HIGH" - and Cohoe FireWise is meeting on the first Monday of May - the 7th - at 7 p.m. at the Kasilof Fire Station. Everyone is welcome, whether you are from Kasilof or not. The Slash Disposal Site (the DOT's Aurora Gravel Pit at Mile Post 14.1 on North Cohoe Loop) is open for business. Call 907-690-0160 if you need to dispose of burnable slash. So far, we do not have a place to dispose of stumps, and are looking. Our sign is there if you forget the phone number! Our trailer should be up and running, if you need help hauling.

If you need help clearing dead spruce, come to the meeting or call us. We can do FireWise property Inspections/Evaluations, so call the same number to schedule.

We'll be discussion plans for the season, so come meet you neighbors. Let's have a safe fire season.
