Senior Center says thanks for great luau

Soldotna Senior Center would like to thank all of the exemplary volunteers who worked tirelessly for the center's "at capacity" crowd, Hawaiian Luau fundraiser. The crowd enjoyed a wonderful evening starting with a delicious Hawaiian dinner, entertainment of the talented hula troupes Na Manu Olu, and Pua Mae Ole. There were fabulous door prizes, a grand door prize, silent and outcry auctions. Volunteers worked in capacities of coordinating and teaching hula dancers, decorating the Center, ticket sales, soliciting donations, food  preparation, table cloth and napkins ironers, food and beverage servers, picture takers, auctioneers, clean-up, and any other work needing done for this very popular event. We would like to give special thanks to Mayor Peter Micciche and his family for the great auctioneering and auctioneer assistance. Another special thank you to Bunny Chong for choreographing and teaching  the 2 hula troupes, coordinating all the Hawaiian mummu's custom made in Hawaii along with dancing implements, for her dedication and sharing Hawaii's history.   Thank you also  to Al Chong for his many months of behind the scenes work for Bunny and the hula troupes  We would also like to greatly thank the media coverage of the Peninsula Clarion, KSRM Radio, KBAY Radio. What a successful event, and of course, we attribute it to all of our volunteers and donors. Thank you all for making this fundraiser the most successful yet. It is truly appreciated.
