I would like to thank Rep. Mike Chenault, Carl High from the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, and Amy from Sen. Tom Wagoner's office for coming to the town meeting regarding Cohoe Loop road conditions in Kasilof on June 23.

Cohoe Loop is in terrible condition and some people have lost control of their cars in winter driving. let us hope the state can find some money to repair this heavily used road , half of Anchorage drives this road in the summer , the state brings heavy traffic down north Cohoe and it is breaking up into large gaps that can catch your tires and cause major car repairs. thank goodness some political representatives are trying to do something.all the dipnet and subsistence fish people should call your representatives and let them know this repair is needed.
North Cohoe Loop temporary repairs a good start
DOT will be repairing the first three miles of the North Loop (From the Sterling in) starting approximately August 15th, they told us. Grind up the pavement, dig up the first 6 inches of road, reshape and compact, put the pavement back and shape and compact, and top it with Chip-Seal. It is a start, but if we want the road rebuilt -- as it needs to be -- it will cost at least 7 million, and only the squeaky wheel gets the grease. So start squeaking, neighbors - and you Anchorage Bowl and MatSu people, too! Write the DOT bigwigs in Anchorage and Juneau, and talk to your legislators!
