Why do we disdain work?

Get out and play day? Really? Is that our highest and best goal or  achievment?  I don’t understand taking precious resources and lauding play.

Why do we disdain work so? Why is entertainment and amusement what we want  to foster?

I am a setnet fisherman — a harvester. Many parents have asked us to hire their son and teach him a work ethic.  The joy of hard work and its fruit are  some of the sweetest lessons my children have learned working our set net  site. But I dare say there is no way I could teach that to someone else’s slothful teenager who has been inculcated that the best thing you can do with a day is get out and play.

I hope Ted Stevens  is resting in peace, while his friends are doing everything they can to incremetally destroy our sweetest joy, working together a family.  I dare say it wasn’t Ted Stevens penchant for  play that helped him achieve his goals.
