Use caution on the path

My elderly father was walking along the hike/bike path along the Spur Highway between 3-4 p.m. Friday from Turnbull.  He is 82 and not as steady on his feet as he once was but was out for some exercise when a girl/woman on a bike came flying down the path behind him. He told me she yelled “look out” and it startled him so badly he lost his balance and fell. He said she came so close he could feel the wind rush by him. He made it back to the house, shaken, bruised and bleeding, but is OK. I’d like to make a plea to those on bikes to please slow down when you’re approaching people on foot, regardless of their age. My father could have been seriously injured and he has as much of a right to be on that path as anyone else.
