Religion shouldn’t be part of political debate

I am afraid we are growing away from the years of President Kennedy. The saying then was that no one would vote for a Catholic.

My personal experience during the Korean Conflict was that religion did not have any bearing on the ability of all people to work together and worship at their own places of gathering and no one ever had a complaint or problem.

My ship with 1,200-1,600 personel on board held services for all. For almost 2 years, a young Mormon sailor bunked across the aisle from myself. He was a highly patriotic person, good worker and friend. We occasionly went on liberty together.

Their is a big battle going on now to keep America as a free country, but a world wide effort to change us to something that I abhor. Let’s keep fighting to keep our country.
