Rotary Club applauds support for literacy project

The Rotary Club of Kenai River-Soldotna would like to thank all of the participants who bought tickets toward our annual fund raiser for a Wine Country trip for two to Prosser, Washington and the Tri-Cities Wine Festival in Kennewick, Washington. The proceeds from this annual event will fund our literacy projects, here on the peninsula along with our international literacy project in Guatemala. The proceeds from this event also fund our contribution to the Rotary Foundation Polio Plus program for the eradication of Polio worldwide.

The winner of the raffle was Colleen O’Connell, and the winning ticket was sold by Rotarian Esther Chambers. Colleen won two round trip tickets to Prosser, Wash., 3 nights in a B&B, use of a car, guided tours of several of the local wineries, one night’s special dinner for  two, and two tickets to the Tri-Cities Wine Festival on November 3. She will also come home with a donated case of the local wines.

Thanks again to all who participated, and look forward to next year’s event from Soldotna’s  “small” Rotary Club. We meet Tuesday nights, 6:30pm at Nikko Gardens. Come and see what we are all about.
