I loved reading Heather Morton’s essay on education (Clarion, Nov. 5). It is refreshing to hear younger voices remind us about what we often take for granted. It is so true that we are so lucky to be able to send our children to school. Heather Morton eloquently writes about a right we have as Americans, which is not necessarily a universal right. As she points out, girls get shot in Afghanistan for promoting education for girls. Thank you Heather for pointing out what is not always obvious. Maybe less teenagers will wake up and say they hate school.
