Support for needy shows community's love

Posted: January 4, 2013 - 8:53am

Special thanks to all the volunteers in our community, who’ve given of their time, money and busy lives to bless our beautiful state, that’s full of God’s beautiful people during this Christmas season! It’s a special time of year to remember what God has done and what He’s given each one of us — the Gift of Salvation, in the love of His Son, Jesus Christ. A special thank you to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave us the best gift of all, the Gift of Salvation through His great love!

What’s really awesome is that this gift is available, year round! I’d like to thank and recognize Velvet Heffner, for her continued efforts to better the Peninsula by reaching out to support those who are supporting others in need, including but not limited to: all the churches, community businesses, outreach organizations and all the volunteers, who helped and supported the 2nd Annual Community Christmas Party held Dec.15 at the Soldotna Sports Center. We had lots of fun, good food, live music, a silent and live auction, where funds were raised to donate to Love In The Name of Christ and the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank. The Gospel was also shared, in love. Many people, both young and old shared the gift of giving and many got to enjoy receiving the benefits. It’s great to have people in our community who are willing to be Jesus’ hands and feet! May you all continue in the gift of love in your giving to help others throughout the New Year, and throughout your life. This gift can’t be bought or sold, it’s free from our Lord, you just need to receive it. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son that whosoever believed in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

The most important commandment: “The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. And love your neighbor as yourself, No other commandment is greater than these.” (Mark 12:29)

“If you love your neighbor, you’ve fulfilled all the requirements of God’s law. Love does no wrong to anyone, so love satisfies all God’s requirements.” (Romans 13:8-14)

“What’s important, is faith expressing itself in love.” (Galatians 5:6)

That is what all you who volunteered did! This is the message we heard from the beginning: “We should love one another.” (I John 3:11)

“God is love. Love comes from God. He showed us how much He loved us by sending His Son, Jesus to die for our sins and reconcile us back to Him. This is ‘real’ love.” (I John 4:7-11)

Thank you everyone, who’s shared real love with your neighbors, community, state, country and the world. You are blessed, to be a blessing. Happy New Year. May the truth be seen in 2013! In Jesus Name. Truth brings freedom! Be free, in Him! “I am the way, the Truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (Jesus Christ).” (John 14:6)

It’s the truth that sets you free! Love you all!

Right on

The scriptures you quoted were right on. I do want to expound a little about the Love of God. When you read the word charity in the bible, the literal translation of that is; the love of God in the renewed mind in manefestation. to love someone you just insulted you or hurt you is not easy. Its so easy to love those who love you, but we are to love the unlovable. To make an honest mental decision to love instead of reacting takes works and that is renewing the mind. Also the love of God doesnt mean you have to like them, love has nothing to do with Gods love, it doesnt mean you have to be friends with them either. Love is service and giving. There are alot of people I dont care for, but I can sure love them with the love of God. There is freedom in this kind of love, but some get it confused thinking you have to like them. It does cover a multitute of sin and even more, love dispells fear. people are incased in fears, fears of sickness, being alone, etc the list is endless, the more we love someone and teach them the Word, it dispells fear in thier lives and ours. To be strong when you are faced with danger, is to stand knowing the love of God protects you. Thankyou for this sweet letter, its build belief in others and you have a tender beautiful heart. God Bless may we continue to renew our minds to the Word. I suggest you read Ephesians over and over, that epistle is written directly to us. you can put your name throughout it.

Very Good

Very Good the love for others which should be at all times of the year. The thing about Love and the desire to help others is that it's opposite is Hate and desire to hurt others.
Along with the above mentioned love scriptures are 5 mentined in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 that i will use to show the major condition of the worlds human hearts towards fellow humans as well as self on the hate side.
But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.
For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unlovin, irreconcilable, malicious, gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treatherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;
holding to a form of godliness, although thay have denied it's power; and avoid such men as these.
Two sides of a coin as well as humankind in this fight of Good, Love, against Evil, Hate. Both exist side by side and many times look so much alike that we can't tell them apart until we see the fruits of their labors and for whom they do the things they do.
Do Good unto all men, but, at the same time realize that Evil wants to twist that Good into Evil for the purpose of distruction of mankinds spirit.
God is Love, but, God is also Rightiousness and will demand an answer for everything each one of us does in this life, which will determine the after life of eternity.
Be Blessed and Be a Blessing to others, while at the same time being very wise in what ever you do.
Thanks for the Letter.
