Support for needy shows community's love

Special thanks to all the volunteers in our community, who’ve given of their time, money and busy lives to bless our beautiful state, that’s full of God’s beautiful people during this Christmas season! It’s a special time of year to remember what God has done and what He’s given each one of us — the Gift of Salvation, in the love of His Son, Jesus Christ. A special thank you to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave us the best gift of all, the Gift of Salvation through His great love!

What’s really awesome is that this gift is available, year round! I’d like to thank and recognize Velvet Heffner, for her continued efforts to better the Peninsula by reaching out to support those who are supporting others in need, including but not limited to: all the churches, community businesses, outreach organizations and all the volunteers, who helped and supported the 2nd Annual Community Christmas Party held Dec.15 at the Soldotna Sports Center. We had lots of fun, good food, live music, a silent and live auction, where funds were raised to donate to Love In The Name of Christ and the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank. The Gospel was also shared, in love. Many people, both young and old shared the gift of giving and many got to enjoy receiving the benefits. It’s great to have people in our community who are willing to be Jesus’ hands and feet! May you all continue in the gift of love in your giving to help others throughout the New Year, and throughout your life. This gift can’t be bought or sold, it’s free from our Lord, you just need to receive it. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son that whosoever believed in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

The most important commandment: “The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. And love your neighbor as yourself, No other commandment is greater than these.” (Mark 12:29)

“If you love your neighbor, you’ve fulfilled all the requirements of God’s law. Love does no wrong to anyone, so love satisfies all God’s requirements.” (Romans 13:8-14)

“What’s important, is faith expressing itself in love.” (Galatians 5:6)

That is what all you who volunteered did! This is the message we heard from the beginning: “We should love one another.” (I John 3:11)

“God is love. Love comes from God. He showed us how much He loved us by sending His Son, Jesus to die for our sins and reconcile us back to Him. This is ‘real’ love.” (I John 4:7-11)

Thank you everyone, who’s shared real love with your neighbors, community, state, country and the world. You are blessed, to be a blessing. Happy New Year. May the truth be seen in 2013! In Jesus Name. Truth brings freedom! Be free, in Him! “I am the way, the Truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (Jesus Christ).” (John 14:6)

It’s the truth that sets you free! Love you all!
