Who is working for whom?

Mr. Borough Mayor, thanks for your warning to watch you guys. At the KPB Assembly meeting, you warned us citizens to “Pay attention” to what you and the Borough officials are doing. You’re absolutely right. We citizens sure can’t afford to sit back and let you guys do anything, without us looking over your shoulders. You public servants might pass an ordinance like 2011-12, that steals our property rights … or start a Task Force that is stacked with people who favor your point of view … or something else equally off-of-the-wall. Who knows what you will do next?

I’m so sorry I dropped the ball on monitoring your activities. I guess I maybe was out working as a productive, taxpaying citizen … or sleeping in my little bed so I can do it all the next day … or cooking dinner for my family and washing those piles of dirty dishes … or perhaps I was helping to get our winter wood into our woodshed to keep us warm … or, surely I was doing something less vital than checking up on you and those other public servants! I guess I made the mistake of thinking that you guys are working for us citizens. I kind of assumed that you would listen to us and find out what we really want. So sorry that I utterly misunderstood!
