Time to honor commitment to reduce spending

March 1, 2013 as part of the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012, I support sequestration — automatic, across-the-board cuts to federal

spending because: (1) It is a program to which Congress committed itself in the past. For once, it is a good idea to follow through on commitments made to reduce spending. (2) The spending/debt of this country is so far past reality something has got to be done. (3) Due to the size of the debt and the amount of government spending there cannot be one agency or department that will notice a reduction in funding of a flat amount that effects everyone.

There has got to be a reduction in spending, a point at which to start; and I explained to Mrs. Murkowski when she spoke in Soldotna on January 11, I whole heartedly support this as a start that must begin now! Following Mayor Navarre’s admonishment to pay attention, I will be watching your vote of support on this issue, the beginning of spending reduction, and I will see that this information is spread far and wide. Thank you for doing the right thing and supporting this!
