D.A.R.E. program reaches for the stars

I am proud to congratulate the newest D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) graduates from Nikiski North Star Elementary. Fifth graders in Mr. Floyd’s, Ms. Matson’s and Ms. Barnes’ class successfully completed the 2012 D.A.R.E. program. These students are pledging to stay away from drugs, alcohol and smoking, as well as making smart life decisions.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the Kenai Elk’s Club for graciously funding the purchase of items needed for this program to be a success! Thanks for your continued support!

I have been fortunate enough to teach D.A.R.E. for the last three years at Nikiski North Star Elementary. Principal Lisa Callahan and her wonderful staff have been invaluable in making this possible. The commitment and dedication of these professionals ensured a fun and smooth running event. Thank you!

Again this year we were fortunate enough to have the fourth graders join us for the graduation ceremony to give them a taste of what they have to look forward to. I am truly blessed to be a part their lives and have the opportunity to help guide these children into a successful lifestyle by making smart decisions. Thank you!
