Nullification valid means to oppose federal edicts

Posted: February 27, 2013 - 5:33pm  |  Updated: February 28, 2013 - 9:52am

With the overconfidence fed a subservient press, the federal government has discovered, at long last, that there are limits to where it can push the states and the people. The issue is self-defense, as in guns and firearms. We can already see how the current federal dictator and his Congressional lackeys are attempting to extract themselves from an issue that is proving as prickly as a porcupine. The shop-worn media techniques, like photo ops with guns, are so transparent now that it has created the opposite effect: not a suckered electorate, but increased resistance.

We can also be certain that no federal statute will emerge to confiscate our guns, at least for now. Too many Democratic senators from Republican states, of which Mark Begich is the prime example, would be committing political suicide. Far more dangerous are state and local laws, with New York and the other northeastern states leading the way. But this, too, is questionable, at the city council of Westford, Massachusetts had second thoughts, and received a standing ovation for doing so.

The tyrants may have control of the federal apparatus of government, but they do not control the majority of the state legislatures, a much better indicator of the national mood. If warfare and welfare appear to divide Americans, this is not so with the Second Amendment. It is here that Alaskans need to be introduced to the key to effective resistance: nullification.

A major rally on this topic will be presented on Monday, March 4 at 7:00 p.m., at the KCHS auditorium. On hand will be NRA vice-president Wayne Anthony Ross, and live via SKYPE Best-Selling author Thomas Woods, author of Nullification: How to Resist Federal Tyranny in the 21st Century.

What is nullification? It is not secession, it is not unconstitutional, it is not untried and it is not ineffective. It is, in fact, a supremely courageous and constitutional act, because it seeks to restore the proper relationship in the much-abused balance between the states and their own creature, the federal government. The nonsense that believes the Constitution demands that the states, but not the national government, obey the constraints that are placed upon it, is the surest sign of tyranny and oppression.

Nullification as found in HB 69 sponsored by House Speaker Mike Chenault, will declare that any federal agent who threatens a law-abiding Alaskan with gun confiscation, to be a felon. It will place the authority of the state between the federal government and the citizen.

A series of bills are currently moving through the legislature and the indications are that its sponsors and supporters will not be easily scared off by hostile opinions. Furthermore, the issues are not negotiable. A legislator’s oath to protect and defend the Constitution is not an oath to protect and defend the federal government.

The bills declare that 1) the federal government is acting outside of the law with attempts to limit the right to keep and bear arms; and 2) as a remedy for a host of other illegal federal acts, nullification might prove just as useful, as in Rep. Wes Keller’s HB 83.

Get ready: the journalistic and academic gurus, together with the cosmetically adorned judiciary with black robes and long faces, will tell us peasants just what the Constitution is supposed to mean. However, a critical mass of the citizenry appears to have figured out that this system is a sham that has gone on for too long, and is in fact responsible for bringing us to this juncture; better yet, the peoples’ representatives in the legislature now realize that we understand this, and will act accordingly.

But a warning: the weapon that the tyrants will wield will be in their control of the legal, academic and journalistic spheres; and ultimately the threat of removing all federal funding.

But what a liberating moment that will prove to be!

"Nullification" is treasonous

"Nullification" is treasonous nonsense.

To paraphrase Sarah Palin, how's that nullification thing workin' out for ya, Southern States in the Civil War? George Wallace in Alabama trying to keep public schools from desegregating?

This is a quote from a Public High School teacher? When a social studies teacher publishes quotes like that it makes one wonder exactly what is he teaching our kids.
The office of the Presidency deserves respect. Public School teachers should keep their private personal opinions of the president to themselves. It is scary to think that public school teachers may be teaching that our president is a dictator or tyrant.

Out the mouth of Babes

We teach them young up here, to spot tyrannical government tacktics. Why would ANY Cammandor and Chief ignore the constitution he swore to defend just last month? I think it's disrespectful see the office so cheapened by the buying of votes with political favor. First the Latino Vote with, yea I can fix that green card thing for you. Then many failing college loans could be solved for your votes. And the mother load of them all, hey you green voters; just watch what I do to the Keystone thing. So real domestic policy aint the strong suit unless it envovles disarming Americans.
I just loved the comment by VP Biden, I wonder who put that up on the teleprompter or if he came up with it himself. You know the part where he said what his wife should do if she thought someone was acting suspicious or frightened her. Get my double barreled shotgun and point it out the window into the woods and shoot BOTH barrels. Effectively disarming a person armed only with the 2 shells in the double barreled shotgun. Still makes a great club, but who wants to get that close. So the 2nd in line as Commander and Chief would have his wife empty her shotgun and only defense to do what? I her case I'm happy to say the SS would be very upset with anyone in that neighborhood.
I just wonder about the thought process that came up with such a statement. And pounding of the drum effect the media has places on any and all info about gun control is probably just a coincidence. So it appears to be all part of the SAME poltical front. The students have to learn it someplace, and if you think they are stupid enough to fall for the pary line, party on.

dreaming

One has to be dreaming if one believes this nullification will hold. The fact of the matter is. Get your head out of the clouds( your as-).Secession is a dream for such a minute percentage of the population. When one is so dissatisfied with their country. Doesn't human nature dictate one moves to a more satisfying abode? There are still those. Who still believe. The President of the United States is not a citizen, and is a Muslim. They are DREAMING, believing half-truths,or outright fabrications
I personally would not attend anything hosted by Mr.Bird. He was wrong about Cox being a Patriot. He turned out to be a person. That was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder of government officials. Some folks have a different twist on what a patriot truly is.

Lay with the dogs, you get

Lay with the dogs, you get the fleas......
Schaeffer cox was the main speaker the last go around, we all know how that fared. We shall see who gets the next shot at being a short lived celebrity.

History will show who was on the right side and who stood on the wrong side.

bird triumphed schaffer cox at the last 2nd amendment circus, stating he was a new and up an comer.
Well he was half right he was new to the FBI and now has the upper bunk in our state prison.

Wayne ross was the ONLY Gov. chosen appointee who DID NOT GET CONFIRMED. Watching the confirmation hearings is a no brainer as to why. Praise allah, or yawah, or buddah.

I suppose the nikiski militia will be there wearing their custom tailored pointy hats ranting about our dicatator (who just won re-election by the way) and the tyrannical government jack booted thugs ready to burst into your home and tear your gun from your hands. Them darn gun grabbers.

Tie all of the stuff this current legislature is doing and just stop and think how far BACKWARDS they are propelling Alaska.

First the big oil giveaway. Lets keep giving the richest corporations the world has ever seen more tax breaks because it is just so hard to make a profit.

Next lets roll back the clean waters act that us voters voted in 2006. Now the cruise ships will save more money by being legally able to dump their crap in our waters.

Now look at the stupid idea of changing our state constituition to allow funding religious schools. Stop and think of the repurcussions of that. Do you want to fund the westboro baptist church school program? Or perhaps a Wicca church? Or Christian Scientists? Or mormons? Or baptists? Or muslims?
What is gonna happen when someone in the state says we ain't gonna fund the jews, or the devil worshippers, only the true believers. Think it through.
Now lets toss some red meat out there and get the fervor and passion up so the seccessionists and nullifiers can take off running while holding the 2nd amendment as their new cause.
Keep stoking the fear, that is what keeps an ignorant citizenery in check.

And finally lets roll back woman's rights. After all, these are all the same exact policies that the aleck group promotes.
Let's have the republican led states back the kock brothers aleck based plan and get all of these agendas passed and into law.
Sheeple had better wake up and smell the coffee. Everyone who is championing all of these bills are on the wrong side of history.
My teachers taught us that you better read and understand history. Cause if you don't, then you are bound to repeat it.
Republican Gov Bobby Jindal said it right. We republicans need to quit being the stupid party. This year has produced the dumbest ones yet. Gawd have mercy.

Not just Ross

Our own Assembly member Brent Johnson was tubed as a Palin nominee to the board of Fish at the same time frame as Wayne Anthony Ross was voted down. Bob Penney and crew were sitting in the gallery in the seats usually occupied by Bill Allen to make sure Johnson got axed. Ross was the only Attorney General nominee to ever not be approved.
Currently, at the same time the legislature wants to give billions of tax cuts to the oil industry they now are demanding freezing all State employees' raises because of projected budget shortfalls. We are in for a runaway session and I don’t see any stopping of any agenda that the majority wants to push, abortion, guns, God vouchers, you name it their will, will be done.

No Backbone to your blog

What about some substance to your blog and not just cry baby whiners, trying to say everyone is so wrong for not supporting Obama's misuse of power. Well cry cry cry like a bunch of little babies that demand to have it their way. How about addressing the real issue, President Obama's plans for gun control would leave most of America just like Chicago. That is all he knows, this is where he is from and for whatever reason he just can't admit these policies have failed to accomplish the goal of less street violence.
When the price of a 3rd or 4th floor flat in Chicago starts to rise as a matter of security that's BIG. Nobody wants to live on the ground floor anymore. 80% of all the robberies and home invasions happen on the first two floors. Those thieves are just like gun grabbers and have very small spines! You know like jelly fish just floating along with the current wherever it's going. Seems you can't think for yourselves and show any real rebutal just go with the Party line.
The Dick Act is what should be stuffed down that old pie hole of gun control. You know that most appropriate response to someone [filtered word] footing around with the 2nd Amendment. Just show them the DICK ACT of 1902 and say any attempt to sucumvent this document is treason! Want to give the Dick Act the old heave because the Democratis Parties plans and decades of conditioning the voters has produced a dibocle, another failed policy? So come on out and cry me a river over your failed treasonous plans.

Just who is coming to take my Guns?

That is the question thousands of peninsula gun-owners are asking. The constitution has labeled that person a traitor to the country of our forefathers. Remember Concorde, the Brittish do; I suggest that you take a reality pill and chill the tone of conversation just a few degrees. The real problem with democracy as we see it today is the O-47 bullet voter. You see the rest of us feel like they areholding that O-47 right to our ribs and are ripping off our nations wealth as reward to voters. Now somebody wants to take our last line of national defense to reach some fairytale, pie in the sky, goal of nirvarna.
No invasionary force to date has succeeded conquoring any land invaded when the resisitance is supported by the majority population. I guess that isn't important to you when you believe in fairytales. Every dictator in the past century went about disarming the country they operate in just this same way. Now we have a DICTATORIAL Party who by mere majority of votes feel they are justified in rewriting the ground rules of democracy. The one line I repeated as a first grader is still chisselled into my soul. It reads in the pledge of Allegiance, "And to the Repulic for which it stands." This translated out to say the rules of the road shall be honored and upheld.

You see I'm very sure more readers would post oposition statements mirroring mine. Trolling rabble rousers shouldn't get the last word is my goal. Your lack of respect for the law abiding folks that merely object to totaliterian tactics is less than dealing in good faith. Any idiot that would respond to my post in a manner that would seem threatening over discussing gun control kinda takes the cake.
To mention weapons and types of ammo, primary and secondary targeting is inviting somebody trouble. No responsible gun owner would respond in that manner to another citizens rebutal in this type of forrum. So I'm blowing that old whisle real BIG. Does LWT comments pose a threat to me, my dogs, my home? Perhaps somebody should shake that tree and see just what kind of nut is growing up there!

3/5/13 I'm curious also about the meaning of "0-47" ? must have something to do with Romney's 47% Don't Know.
The Doggie Guy that you mentioned reminds me of Our Ole Friend Jerry Baty Watchman on the Wall, End of the World is near. Or Mister Paranoia Himself, Jessie Ventura.
Or Glenn Beck Or Mike Savage, Or John Davis, Or Sarah Palin the list just goes on & on.

Ammo Economics

When Clinton signed off on the first assault weapon law the values of certain rifles skyrocketed. After Bush II let the 10 year ban lapse, sunset, the same weapon values tanked. Now without a new law, just the idea of the possibility of a ban has these weapon prices going for 3 to 5 times, or more, the prior ban value. As far as ammo, there is no shortage, never will be a shortage, every war lord in every corner of the globe can buy as much and as varied of types of ammo as their money can afford. Global manufacturing will never let the person of means run low on ammunition or the weapons to use them. Price gouging and profiteering are and always have been how weapon markets operate. We, the U.S. just ended one war in Iraq and we are winding down Afghanistan, there seems to be a need to create a demand for what is in actuality a surplus of goods. To the American businesses involved in the marketing model we are now seeing, Well Done, your stockholders will reward you. This strategy will be studied years from now and the social, economic and political reasons of how to maintain and increase profits before and during the decreasing demand for your product, The lessons learned will focus on the buyer group dynamics and how to repeat the process for continued future profits of other products to these same groups.

Just insults and no substance

Can't figure out the O-47, well it's the 47% Romney referred to in his little speach that was so publicized. You know the one where he said there are 47% of the voters are on Public Assistance and would vote for Obama. You remember the ones that go into the voter booth and stick that O-47 bullet vote right into America's ribs and sneeze the trigger. They know just how to vote for the one that PAYS. What are you gonna give me for this vote is thier question, and they sure found thier man.
Remember the how every Democracy founded on our little planet has failed at about the 200 year mark? You know when over half the voters realize they can vote themselves bouty at the tax payers expense! I knew you could remember. Yes it's the 47% Romney talked about.
And as for my buddy WOW, you talking here about him just shows me a whole new level of low class! That he was barred and LWT not barred for threatening content in a post he verbally pointed at me, shows me how vile your inent is towards others who at least post according to the Editors instructions. Norseman, funding religious schools

Regarding the terrrrable repercussions involving changing the constitution to allow funding religion. If all Alaska turns Mormon, Muslim or even Christian and wants funding for those schools, that's okay with me. Why shouldn't those people be able to fund schools which preach what they believe? That is what America is about, we fund what most of the people believe in. State funded devil worship is not what I would like to see but I assure you that I would work and vote to defund those type of religions. Anyway those types would be about .000001% of statewide funding and constantly defunded by people like me. It is all part of the process. You are mis-led, Church and State separation is not in any constitution. The U.S. Constitution requires that the government NOT make laws restricting religion. Funding a religion has nothing to do with any constitution.

hard to believe

I would like to see some documented evidence that 47% of our population is on welfare.Take away the population that is still in high school. Then the population that are to young to enter school. Is the part time employees included in this ? Unemployment Compensation is federally taxed.Do we include those folks in this percentage.Romney when Governor of Massachusetts. He about bankrupted the state. The people of Massachusetts were glad his term was over. So! Just where did Romney come up with this specific number? Are you agreeing with his numbers because Romney said so,or did you follow up with you delving into facts, and figures? I would still like to see any documentation of that number. I will believe it then.

"Why shouldn't those people be able to fund schools which preach what they believe?"...they are able to fund their schools, just not with my and your public tax dollars. Let me guess that you were taught your beliefs about government somewhere other than public schools. The reason tax exemptions are given to religious institutions is to allow this freedom, now you would want to get greedy and take public tax money on top of the free ride, shameful and very un-American.

Amendment 1's first sentence is: Congress shall pass no law RESPECTING an establishment of religion. Thus you have your separation of church, and state.Or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. Now you have your personal right to practice your religious belief without any repercussion from the government. Which is another separation of church, and state. Yes! funding religion by public monies has everything to do with the Constitution.

27,162 Pen Residents Employed

Thur 3/7/13 While on the subject of Romney's 47%

2010 Census: 55 Thousand Kenai Peninsula Residents

Dept of Labor : 27,162 Kenai Pen. Residents are currently employed & receive a Pay Check.

That leaves 27,838 Pen Residents NOT Employed & no documentation of their status ?Which includes me a Retired School Dist Employee.

My question is : Is that 27,162 Pen. Residents part of Romney's 47% ?

Our Republicans are in Total Control now. Just trying to figure out how we 47% are viewed by the Republican Majority.
