Pond hockey tournament a rousing success

We would like to take the time to thank the many people and organizations that made the First Annual Tesoro Alaska Daubenspeck Park Pond Hockey Tournament a success. First, we would like to thank our Sponsor, Tesoro Alaska, for their generous financial support. Also, the City of Kenai and their employees Bob Frates, Alex Koch and Chris Konig who worked tirelessly to assure that the Daubenspeck Park Pond was in perfect shape for the tournament. They worked on the two pond rinks from early morning until late into the afternoon to assure a safe and quality experience for the participants and spectators. The City of Kenai administration deserves recognition for their support of the rink maintenance and allowing the event to happen at Daubenspeck Park Pond. Appreciation also goes out to Coca Cola and The Mainstreet Tap and Grill for their donations. Finally, we would like to thank the many players and volunteers who took the time out of their day to support the Kenai Kardinal Hockey team. The inaugural tournament was a success and provided a great “Old Time Hockey” experience.
