Kenai Elks Lodge installs new officers, recognizes service

On March 23, the Kenai Elks Lodge No. 2425 installed their officers for the 2013-2014 Lodge Year.

Following that ceremony, Past Exalted Ruler (PER) Skeeter Creighton made three presentations that are a cornerstone of our Lodge.

First, he presented Herb Stettler with our Citizen of the Year Award. That award is given to a person who has given their time and effort to benefit our community; the person can not be a member of the Elks Lodge.

As Elks, the hour of 11, Flag Day, Wounded Warriors Project, and Veterans Day have a special and significant meaning to our organization. Mr. Stettler’s unselfish and constant work for veterans in our community is well established and he clearly deserves recognition by our organization.

Also recognized for their outstanding contributions to our organization were Rick Mourek (PER), who was named the Elk of the Year, and Donna Flug was our Officer of the Year. Both persons have spent countless hours working both on our Lodge’s events and events in our community.

We’re thankful to all three individuals for their community activism.
