AFS applauds the Central Kenai Peninsula

The Kenai chapter of AFS-USA, (foreign student exchange program) wishes to thank the entire community for its support during this 2012 -13 hosting year this includes; the local print and radio media, host families, Peninsula School District staff, Sport and activity coaches, students and friends of AFS. With departures a little over 2 months away, it is time to reflect on and thank all who have made this a great year.

The event was held at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Chruch, and we thank them as well. It was well attended; the food was excellent, thank you cooks!

Funds raised will be used to fund a scholarship for a local student to participate in a foreign exchange and to support the cost of providing our visiting students with a quality exchange experience. (Parents are not paid for hosting students but funds raised from this event go to assist the student with incidental expenses such winter clothing, sports and activity fees, and local Alaska travel).
