Dedicated people are what makes community great

In the Clarion account of the Soldotna City Council meeting on April 10, Mr. Dixson is quoted as saying that he is “paid to make decisions for the benefit of the city, its residents and its employees.” Just how did his decision to fire Terri Burdick benefit the city or its residents, or its employees? I would still like to know the rationale behind this decision.

Mr. Dixson also commented that this is a great community. It certainly is — because of Terri Burdick and people like her.

By the way, since the city council saw fit to sit back and let this happen, I suspect quite a number of people will show their displeasure at the next election. I don’t care how hard it is to find a city manager, this community doesn’t need a big city hatchet man.
